Replace 2nd row Captains Chairs on 99 Express
I am looking to replace 2nd row captains chairs to a Bench seat on a 99 Express Gladiator conversion. Is it just a matter of getting the proper factory tracks to bolt into factory holes on the floor and getting the proper seat/belt set up to mount into tracks?
Short answer. No.
As a conversion van will have none of the factory parts for the bench seats. The floor rails that go under the carpet wont be there, and I bet the holes are not even drilled for the bolts. If you plan to do only a single bench seat and keep your rear bench/bed then you will have to cut the factory rails and install the front half of them.
The seat belts from the walls might be factory, but if not, then you might be pulling your side walls down to replace those too.
Big job for one more seat.
Best thing to do is go to a wrecker and find a passenger van and pull up the carpet to see what the factory set up is like.
