Default replacement headlight plug

One of my headlight plugs is pretty coroded and wasnt sure if i should just by a universal replacemement to splice in or just replace the metal push on thingys. If i replace it, do i just splice it or try and locate the start of the existing wire and run a new full length?

Stupid phone submitted this before i was done typing so sorry if the title is still wrong

Hard to say without photos of the part, or year of your vehicle. Personally, if the metal isn't completely eaten away I would try to remove the corrosion.

I like using these to make electrical connections:

Oops, my dumb phone deleted half of what i typed the first time. Its an 08 express. It has the standard 3 prong connector for the generic sealed headights (i forget the name of the type of headlights). I found a generic 4 pin that i think is suppose to be a universal connector. I haven't been able to find an actual replacement 3 prong one yet. ive been having issues with this one for a while. i used that conductive grease stuff last time but it still keeps killing my headlight. I'll test it tomorrow but i'd rather just replace either the clips or the whole connector.

Thats the style but i'm not sure if thats a generic set of clips or if they are the same ones used in the stock connector. kinda looked like atleast one of them had a 45 bend in it but kinda hard to see when it's corroded. Just didn't know if someone else already knew before i take it apart so i could just pick up new pins ahead of time

the ones pictured look like a standard 1/4" fast-on or quick-disconnect terminal. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the headlights use. You could always disassemble the connector on the working side. The terminal should come out of the housing if you release the locking tab with something sharp.
