reverse light chevy van
Hi, I would like to clarify, I want to install a light so that it is more visible in reverse gear, but I have never done this, I have a chevy van 3500 2006 as I understand I need to unscrew the rear light, find the power wire and connect it to the power on the lamp and screw the ground to any metal, and after that everything should work for me?
Sorry for such simple questions

That's the basics of how you wire it. Tap into the power line and connect it to the positive on the new light. Ground it anywhere on the frame. There should be several grounding points already there if you remove the interior panels. Mine's a cargo so all the wires are already exposed. If you use an LED there should be no need for a relay or anything else.
One slick way would be to mount the light in the plastic license plate panel and run the wire through the sock that keeps the existing wires covered. I did that with a camera wire and a hidden external unlock button that I use when working out of the van. I'm about to do exactly this myself with a small LED that points down on the trailer hitch so I can see it better with the camera.
Also, I replaced the reverse bulbs with these LEDs and couldn't be happier. They produce a lot more light both to the sides and project it farther back. Huge difference! I put this style in every car I own with no issues. These are the brightest I've seen. I would put these in first then see if or where you need additional light.
