Default Seat Upholstery for 1994 G30 Cargo Van

New member, first time posting!

My father-in-law owns a 1994 Chevrolet G30 cargo van which needs new front seat covers (blue vinyl) and new seat foam for the seat bottom. I have not been able to find a replacement OEM-style seat upholstery kit for this vintage G-van. Does one exist? Are these seats common with the 1981-1999 Suburban & K5 Blazer, which would allow me to use foam and seat upholstery for one of these models?

Picture for attention (not my fath-in-law's van, but from a very nice 1984 G10 cargo in what appears to be the same shade of blue)

I have the same issue with the driver seat on my 1996 C1500 pickup truck. The drivers seat ONLY has torn uphostelry and a torn up seat cushion. I have had ZERO luck finding either online. About the only seat cushions I find are for a full bench seat for the 1988-1998 GM truck generation (GMT400), or for a 40/60 split bench (1992-1995), whereas my 1996 has a 60/40 split (drivers side and middle slide together).

Your father-in-law's 1994 G30 likely has the same issue. The seats for any van prior to 1988 probably won't be the same, or for any model past 1998.

I am at the point I think I will end up buying full bench seat foam, and cut it down to fit using a hot-knife to trim the foam to match the shape of the original. But I can't find the split bench seat upholstery to match my truck - just a few crappy vinyl slip on covers meant to go over existing upholstery.

If you want to do it right, it's probably best to go to an upholstery shop if you can find one, and have them do it. But it won't be cheap. Last time I had 2 front seats recovered with leather it cost me about $800, and that was 15 years ago! And they could not quite color match the rear seats, but it was close enough for me at the time.

call the Seat Shop, as they appear to sell replacement 60/40 seat upholstery.

That would work for the bottom of my drivers seat, but they don't have a back to match. I've got the 60/40 bench back, with no folding center section like the Silverado had. The current seat covers are charcoal/grey fabric with vinyl sides. I guess a mismatched vinyl seat would look better than the ripped fabric seat.
