I just wanted to update this thread in case anybody else runs into this. Once I had my new sensor I was able to look at it and on the back side it is a Torx head that threads reverse threads through the sensor. Went back out and put the van back up in the air and sure enough you are able to get to the top side of it from the engine side of the support. I just didn't look close enough. I threw together a little video in case anybody else needs to replace this... it's quite a simple job once you understand it. It did take care of my code... problem solved. Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah it really is. I had visions of cutting through this thing and trying to grab the threads and who knows what else to get it out. Thankfully when I felt the Torx barely move a little bit as I was unknowingly tightening it even more I decided to look at the new one to make sure I had the right size Torx bit in it . It felt like I did but you know.....I wanted to be sure because I didn't want to strip it or I knew I'd really be screwed. That's when I found out the threads were reversed. Ended up being very easy.... but I said the same exact thing when I was on doing it. Sneaky bastards....
