So it is the side cargo door hinge. Went to Chevy to pick one up, but they were trying to bend me over...$107 I went on amazon and found one for $41...Will give that I try and report back.

Since last time I was on here, I have painted the van, nothing real fancy, just a coat over, pitch black so I can get the company logo and stuff on her.

just making her worth my while

I think the spring is broken, or the post in the door is missing, broken with excessive force, possibly a wind gust. With a flashlight look in the door area, you should see a vertical rod (post).
Im missing this whole piece. Anyone know the part number
I’ve searched all the threads I can find on this, Ty muchos!

Just hit a junkyard for one. Should be the same on almost any of these vans.

I’ve found one of the parts online, still unsure of what it attaches too. Pick a part near me aren’t helping, 2 have closed and 2 have 2 vans between them without the doors in question. The hunt continues 0.o. Is there another part on this picture that relates to the door check?

I don't know why someone would take that strap when they take the door. It just bolts to the B-pillar (or C-pillar/doorjam area) and hooks inside around an internal post, you don't have to take it off to remove the door, although it can be helpful. In fact there's labels right on there, if you need to open the door further than the strap allows, push the strap back when the door is partway open to unhook it, and then it will open all the way back about 145'.

Default Door check

This is where door check should connect

And same taken inside other door

Looks like I could just put a bolt thru there. Any idea what size bolt to use, by dia of hole should be 1/4 or 5/16
