Default side door key lock lever loose an intermediate electric locks

04 express side door key lock lever loose an intermediate electric locks

Since I’ve had this 05 the side door has had issues.here’s the order of priority.

1.key lock lever is unconnected at low end (opposite end of key). Now I know why the key won’t lock or unlock.

Where doe’s the lower end of this lever connect to?

2.electric door lock sometimes works for unlock an lock, so I always have to confirm the door is actuely locked when I want it locked.I’ve tried to clean the contacts w/ pencil eraser also tried sos pad (fine brillo pad) no improvement.

3.the window latch was detached from the door, I managed to tie wrape the side widow ghetto style. The good news is I was able to reattach the latch.

4.insect screen was ripped a bit. Will replace household type screen w/ holes much smaller for noseesum, so this will reduce visability I hope not to much. It will also keep peeking tom from peeking in the van.

5. I was all set to install my 4th speaker on my new audio sys. In the side door.

Since the side door doesn’t have a gateway tube like the front doors wiring do I may have to wire ghetto style.

Any advice on these side door issues is appreciated.

I searched the charm11 could'nt find a exploded view of where the key lock lever attaches to. I believe this lever sometimes grabs enough of where it's supposed to be connected making electric door lock to acutely work for both lock/unlock but not consistently just a small % of time.

the lever was dissconnected at the orange grommet.I got lucky the orange grommet was still attached. didn't notice which hole it was in but will take a decent image an document this issue for future reference.I believe this grommet could have fialed bc those levers stay attached pretty good. I will purchase a new grommet or snag a couple next time at used parts recyclers.I resolved the dissconnected lever an now have power door locks an manuel w/ key that lever was preventing the power door locks.so I can lose my 2'long painters stick to lock an unlock ,

now if I could only figure out how to lube the side door hinges? I've covered the outside w/ white lithium grease but still have to push forcefully to close.

The lithium grease won't penetrate if the hinges are dry and dirty with corrosion. You might try some WD40 or other penetrating oil to wick in and sort of "prime the pump". A few times spraying it and working the hinges will get to start flushing the crap out. Then go in with some actual lube.
