Default So how cold should be AC?

I'm browsing around in AutoZone and I came to the AC island... They have this gas which they claim it can lower the temps 30 degrees more than conventional gas...really???

If that's what they claim then it must be true. Enjoy icicles hanging off your vents.

A/C temps depend on ambient temperature.

LOL icicles.
Well, other than the cIaim, I forgot when was the last time maintenance was done to the AC system. They say every two years to keep the system healthy. No complains about AC temps, It just made me wonder about the claim. I do have two zones AC, so I do want to keep it running smooth.

the thing is the a/c is controlled based on temperature or pressure. if too cold the evaporator ices up. What good is an extra 30 degrees if its not utilized. It sounds like a sales pitch

Yep. Sales pitch all the way.

I think I will just buy a regular one to make sure pressure is at it should be. As I said before, I dont even recall when was the last time the AC systema was serviced.

If it blows cold, then just leave it alone. Just make sure turn it on once in a while even when you're not using it.

I think to spec it should be 40-45° F. Freezing can cause the condensation to freeze on the coils blocking air flow.

Where I live even now I have to turni it on since temperature inside the VAN is unbearable. So its a system to just let it go and all of the claims out there to service it every 2 years is just hype?
