Default Google Assistant with Android Auto not working.

In my 2022 Silverado, I have my phone paired and use Android Auto as opposed to the Chevy UI. I like the Android Auto layout a bit better.

The problem is, whenever I use the steering wheel buttons or give a "hey google" prompt, it reverts to the Chevy UI and tries to function in that OS environment rather than the Anroid Auto environment. If I'm not signed into the Chevy OS, I get an error saying it's not signed in yet.

Does anyone have e a fix for this?

I think you need to sign into your Google account. I changed my gmail password and ran into this issue, took me a while to figure out why it wasn't working. After I signed in to my Gmail account in the pickup again it all worked.

Actually, I found out a "long press" on the steering wheel goes straight to android auto. A short press or "hey google" goes straight to the Chevy UI.

That's odd, "hey google" should presumably only launch android if the "long press" launched the app.

Short press or "hey google" goes to chevy UI, Long press goes to Android Auto. I have not been able to use voice commands while in the Android Auto environment.
