I'm having a starting problem with my 2001 1500.
It starts, but then it will rev on it's own and then not get enough fuel.
When I put the pedal down it hesitates a little and then does the same thing.
Once it settles down and you put it in gear it revs again and then settles back where it
should be.
Any ideas? O2 sensor? fuel pressure regulator sensor?
I'm hoping something easy.

it could be mass air flow or a vacuum leak.....possibly and intake....

 

test your fuel pressure and see where thats at. i had an 02 that was running at 20 psi but it lacks power and you couldnt floor it along with stalling sometimes
