Default Towing capacity, please help.

Hello Chevrolet Enthusiasts!

I have imported a '81 Chevy Van G20 from the USA to the Netherlands.

I would like to have the Towing Capacity on my registration.
The guys that gives out the registrationforms could not help me with the all the car weights and paperworks...

I have the GVWR (6600Lbs/2994kg), but not the GCWR.
Does anybody know how to find or get this?

I have the original G-series Shop Truck Manual, but I couldn't find the GCWR.
Maybe someone has the same truck and knows this?

VIN: 1GBEG25H6B7149569

Thanks in advance!

Greetings,
Kees

depends on engine siZe and rear end gear ratio but a comfortable number is 5000 pounds in a Class III hitch and 10000 pounds with a Class IV weight transfer hitch with the 5.0L 305 motor, if it is a 6 cylinder discount by 40% if it a bigger motor add 40% for each upgrade.

Thanks RacerX

But I need it on paper.
I want the towing capacity on my registration forms, this got to do with insurance when towing a trailer more than 750 kg.
Otherwise you are not allowed to tow more than the 750 kg here in the Netherlands.

In advance I did mount a towing hitch capable of 2000 kg and an external transmission cooler.
The Van has a 305 V8, 4 bbl Hi Comp motor and has a rear axle ratio of 3.08
Maybe this helps?

Grtz,
Kees

Paperwork is correct. This towing capacity is a supplement or addition to the normal registration.
The dealers overhere in the Netherlands can't help me. They do nothing with importcars.....
So I have to find out myself. Some people do have the towing capacity on their registratiopn, so it can be done. It is VIN-dependent, i.e each car has its own capacity.
I only have to know where to get it.
