FYI. I had my key freeze in the crank position once when starting my 2002. There I was sitting there with the engine running, and the starter sounding like it was trying to grind the flywheel down and inch or so.
I cranked hard on the key to just barely get the starter to quit, and limp to a dealer for a replacement key cylinder......
I hope yours does not do that to you, and also that it is not contributing to your issue.

Okay at work today again it stops going into park I thought I had this remedy but I didn't, so when I get home this afternoon I get up under my van and I investigate. I find the cable is held on with a ball and socket joint I really didn't know how it worked but I pulled on it hard enough and it popped off. Now I could manually click my transmission and it did go in the full range from Park to the lowest gear so I knew that was working now I unclipped my cable and pulled it out to the longest setting and it seemed like my cable was one inch short of reaching Park? Does anybody have any idea why my cable would seem one inch Short of reaching park when I have it fully extended???? man I need some help with this one!!!!!

How do I adjust Parking brake on Chevy Spark 2009 model. Do I have to remove the drums or is there any other way?
