Please help. this part was found in my dirty fluid after getting the pan back on and almost started filling it back up. Tried putting it in this spot but not sure it goes there and or is absolutely necessary

Looks like a lock pin that might capture something ... shift cable perhaps.

 

It was just a lock pin for my cheap snap ring pliers that fell in there. 🤦🏼
