2014 chevy awd express, quite a few empty plugs on the rear door frame wiring harness. what could they be for?

 

Is this a cargo van ? I got a wiring diagram and hooked up rear speakers in my cargo van. They were plugs by the rear doors for the speakers

 

Rear Doors:

Power Locks
Power Lock Switch
Door Speakers
Rear Defrost
Rear Camera
License Plate Light

You likely have a door wire harness on the Right Hand Door for all those options. If I am not mistaken, there is something else, perhaps the dome light for passenger vans on the Right Hand Side Pillar. On the Left Hand Side Pillar you may find HVAC wires for the Rear Heater. Naturally, on each Pillar you will find Parking Lights, Brake Lights, Turn Signal Lights, Back Up Lights. Center over the Doors will be the overhead rear speakers and center stop lamp.

 

Yup same here. I have empty connectors for speakers, defog, and camera, all of which were not installed. They probably make one kind of harness to save money.

cargo van with no back windows or speakers so those empty plugs make sense.
