Default What are these wires for ? (2001 Express 1500 Lt 5.7L)

While trying to remove the clutch fan (a nightmare), I found a cit wire and disconnected wire pushed behind some other things. What are these wires for and where or what should they be connect to ? The blue wire is clipped or the end fell off. The orange/red has a fastner attached and is not connected to anything. The white wire is connected to the chassis, two wires have something attached to them.

The metal bar is being used in an attempt to remove the clutch fan.

They are part of the trailer wiring harness. The black thing attached to them is a fuse case with a fuse inside it. According to my 2001 Owner's Manual vans can have a four-wire harness or a three-wire trailer wiring harness. The three-wire harness is described on page 4-42 of the owner's manual as a dark blue wire for electric trailer brakes, an orange wire for trailer accessory, and a white wire for ground. The red wire is the power wire going through the black thing which is the fuse to the orange accessory wire. It would only be connected to power if you were actually using the wiring harness. The other wires for the tail and brake lights are bunched up in the frame of the van at the rear. You can check them out with a continuity tester.

That is all aftermarket wiring. Probably was attached to something that is no longer used.

Sorry it is not aftermarket, it comes from the factory that way and is mentioned in the owner's manual. It is just not hooked up, you hook it up if you plan on using it.

The van has a factory installed hitch and large round trailer connector.

The only question is where are the Orange and Blue wires supposed to connect to ?

Dark Blue: Use for electric trailer brakes (seven-wire harness only)
Orange: Trailer accessory (seven-wire harness only)

Look under the left side of the steering column to see if those wires are there too. I bet its for a brake control.
