Wheel exchange for 2001 3500 Express

I have checked if they will fit but not comfortable they will be safe weight-wise, mine is near GVWR. I have lo

Rockauto lists wheel dimensions and bolt pattern so check on there.
aluminum is lighter than steel and I don't think a pound or two is going to affect yoru GVWR significantly.
Keep in mind that if you hit a curb or big hole, aluminum shatters, unlike steel. So it could make the difference between driving away from a mishap or not.

I see guys in the demo derbies running what look like aluminum wheels when they can find them.
I suppose when they get old they could crack, but 8 lug suspension is usually rated for 9600 lbs even if the truck is badged 2500.

I've seen people put these on vans.

Those wheels are forged not cast so they bend not crack. They are strong wheels but getting older and harder to find a nice set at the wrecking yard.
