Default Wheel exchange for 2001 3500 Express

I have a 2001 Express 3500 cut away or cab&chassis, which has the 8 lug OE steel wheels, single rear wheels not duallys, There is a set of 8 lug OE aluminum wheels on a 03 2500 Chevy pickup. I have checked if they will fit but not comfortable they will be safe weight-wise, mine is near GVWR. I have lo
oked on the net but not sure if I have checked every place I can. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable or know a good site to check? TIA jIm

Rockauto lists wheel dimensions and bolt pattern so check on there.
aluminum is lighter than steel and I don't think a pound or two is going to affect yoru GVWR significantly.
Keep in mind that if you hit a curb or big hole, aluminum shatters, unlike steel. So it could make the difference between driving away from a mishap or not.

The bolt patterns match up. My concern is the ability of the wheel to carry the weight of the 3500. Did ot know aluminum wheels break! Thanks you

I see guys in the demo derbies running what look like aluminum wheels when they can find them.

I suppose when they get old they could crack, but 8 lug suspension is usually rated for 9600 lbs even if the truck is badged 2500.

I've seen people put these on vans.

Those wheels are forged not cast so they bend not crack. They are strong wheels but getting older and harder to find a nice set at the wrecking yard.

Thanks, those are the wheels I am looking at from a private seller, he was asking $350 and dropped price to $300 I am waiting for $200. We only have one pick and pull in the area, I should go there and see what they have. I sold a nice set of wheels with good tires one time and had little interest in them and took a low offer after several months.
