my son replaced radio in my 96 suburban & now the a/c won't work only window vent works & it's hot air, Hoping some one can help

I would pull the radio out and look behind the controls of the air and fan settings. Maybe the wires got yanked out. Other wise maybe you just ran out of freeon and need to get your system recharged. Thats just what im thinking. Wont cost you anything just to pull it out and check all the wiring. Maybe check the fuse box as well.
