towing capacity by VIN
Is it possible to tell what the towing capacity of my truck is by the VIN? I'm being told it's 9200lbs but in the manual it looks like 6100lbs. My VIN is 1GCUKSEC5FF201294.

not that i know of.
I'd go by the manual. As long as you know the axle ratio, trans/eng size, 4wd/rwd the manual is accurate.
my gm truck list the max trailer weight and max cargo weight for the vehicle along side the rpo sticker in the glove box.
