Default 04 Chevy 1500 question and intro

Hay everyone. I'm new to the forum and looking into getting a Chevy 1500 pickup. My last trick was on 03 Dodge ram and it was a great truck, so not sure how it compares to the Chevy.

I'm looking at an 04 Chevy 1500 v6 automatic regular cab with 185k miles. It supposedly was a fleet truck so I'm hoping all maintenance was done on regular basis.

The seller is asking 4k. Is a Chevy with that high mileage worth that and how high a mileage can one expect if all service was done regularly?

The truck looks very good from pics and i haven't seen in person yet. Wanted to get some feedback here first. Thanks for any info and feedback.

do you live in a rust belt?
without seeing the truck, I say no especially if its a 2wd. I would offer $1500 and no more....expect to put $1000 to $2000 or more into a truck that old with that high mileage. trucks can look great from 20 feet away in a photo. if you must buy this at least spend $150 for a mechanical inspection before you buy. you will have to spend this after anyway to register the vehicle.

2wd base trucks with a single cab v6 are hard to sell. for $4000 you can get a extended cab 4x4 with full load.

I live in central Florida and pickups are selling high here. This one seemed like the better deal from those advertised locally and on Craigslist.

since you are not in a rust belt, prices will be higher as the bodies are rust free.
