My "70" Impala has a 400 engine that is built nice. About 400 rear wheel horsepower. I have a GM 700R4 automatic tranny 4 speed overdrive. Looking to possibly replace my 8.2 OEM rear end (2.62 ratio) and as I have read it's not a good rear end to take more than 400HP.
I'm not looking to drag race this car as it will be a street cruiser but at times I'll "step on the gas".
Looking for the best and least expensive option for a 3.73 or 4.10 gear with posi. I don't want to go too cheap and have to replace gears down the road.
Any suggestions?
