Default 1970 Transmission C20

I have a whinning noise that I am pretty sure is coming from my tranny. It seems to get louder as the rpms get higher. When I push in the clutch the noise goes away. Could this be the throwout bearing? The truck shifts fine. Also how do I find out what kind of transmission my truck would have? 1970 Chevy C20 3/4 ton 4 speed manual. My truck has the biggerI-6 if that helps at all.
Thanks for your time.

Hey Ken
it does sound like the throw out bearing but i am not sure the transmission you have.
I just did a quick search on advanceautoparts.com (partsamerica.com) for a throwout bearing for you truck and this is what i came up with
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...39&PTSet=A

It lookes like there is really only one option, but choices of manufactuers

hope this helps
