Hello I have been out of the Chevy V8 world for about 15 years. Picked up a 78 3/4 ton.. It starts and idles. Fine. Will Rev up. Smooth, but as soon as I put it in drive, it starts bucking and popping out the carburator. It currently has an eldabrock 4 bbl.
could some of you fine folks? Give me an idea where to look. And refresh my memories.

 

Timing might be too retarded. Get a timing light, at about 700 rpm it should be around 8 deg btdc. Also is it a point distributor?
