Default 1989 Chevy 2500 TBI help

Need some ideas here. I have a 89 k2500. 350 tbi. 4 speed. I rebuilt the motor. .040 flat top Pistons. RV cam (not huge so it won't mess with the computer). It idles and runs great! Hooked onto my camper and it just don't seem like it's any better than when it was just a plain ol stock cam 350 with reg pistons in it and 100,000 miles on the motor. Timing is set at 0 deg with the wire unplugged. This is the OBD 1 system. Do I need to do some sort of tuner to help it out ? Can ya tune these ? Any help would be awesome !
