Default 1996 c1500 suburban 5.7 rev issues

My suburban won't do this all of the time and it just started 2 days ago. But it will get to about 2000 rpms and fall on its face. If I try to throttle through it it starts to backfire and sputter and lose all power. Of I shut it off and let it sit for 10 seconds then start it again it will let me mash the throttle. Then a lil bit later it does the same thing. I replaced the in line fuel filter today and it still does it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sounds like it's time for a NEW fuel pump. I suggest use only OEM AC Delco. Good luck.
