Default 1998 5.7 rebuild

Hello OBS owners. I have a 1998 k1500 with a L31 5.7. It has a 6 inch Rough Country lift with 35x12.50x20 inch tires on 12 inch wheels. It still has .373 gears but runs fairly well. The motor has 225,000 miles. It still runs pretty well for that many miles. It does have a few small oil leaks and has a slight know when first started, but goes away after a few seconds. The question me and my son have is, that we are going to rebuild the engine in a couple of months. We are wanting to rebuild the engine and wanting to add some horse power. Is it worth adding a cam? We know it will need a tune afterwards. Is there anything else we could do that would be beneficial? What about the upgrade from the spider injectors from sequential to multi port? I have heard of the marine intake upgrade but it seems pretty involved with some machining and modifications. Any help with pistons, cam, injectors, head gasket, headers style, pipe size, etc.. Thank y'all very much in advance.. 1985GREYGHOST
