Default 1999 Chevy C1500 Suburban LT Trip meter

Looks like my trip meter has broken. It resets but stops at 99 miles. Can I buy a new unit or repair it? Or do I have to buy a used cluster and swap the trip meter out? Thanks.

Does the regular odometer work? If it's only the trip meter then it is in the cluster. If they both don't work, it could be the sender or the wiring. There are cluster repair services, or you can go to a junk yard and get a used cluster.

Hi just the trip odometer does not work properly. My son reset it while traveling and it is not working now. It will run up to 9 miles then quit. Can I buy another cluster take the trip odometer part out and swap it out with my broken one leaving the regular odometer alone? Vehicle has 135,000 miles on it. Thanks.

I would try a junkyard first. There are a couple of Youtube videos on removal and installation. I think a whole new panel was about $250, IIRC.
