Default 1999 K1500 suburban front wheel hubs

I think I may have toasted my front diff, and was curious to know if the hubs are designed to stay together with the half shafts removed, as i'd like to completely disconnect the diff till I can get it fixed.

No,hub bearings need pressure, you could pop apart your outer cv's and leave them there, properly torqued
