Default 2000 ZR2 blazer

So last Monday I ran my blazer dry of gas, (had to get to school and the bank wasn't open yet so yea.) knowing it needed a tune up. I've changed the plugs and wires. Recharged the battery. She still wouldn't turn over. Tried poring a bit of gas directly in the carb and she would start but wouldn't stay on. Any thoughts?

Maybe fuel pump? Have someone turn it over and get underneath the tank to see if it engages when the key is turned on. Then go from there, sounds like it's not flowing if you have to pour gas down the carb.

The fuel pump hums when the key is working. It's definitely a fuel delivery issue. I was looking for the fuel filter. Nothing on the fuel rail, or following any of the fuel lines. I found an old military canister fuel filter located behind the driver side rear tire tucked up in the fender wall. Squeezing it it feels like an old dried up carbon filter. (Like a home air filter or something of the sort). At the top of this "canister" there are two fuel lines. A purge and a tank. And an air line. At the fuel pump there are 4 lines. Two going to he engine and two going to this canister.
