Default 2001 Tahoe Transmission Concern

hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2001 Chevy Tahoe LT 4x4 5.3l with 180k miles. I noticed when the engine temp is cold 1-2 shift is harsh, not neck cracking harsh but you can tell it's sort of like a soft hit. When the truck is warmed up and driven for a bit it shifts just fine. Should that be a concern?

I do not know what your abilities are but if you want to try and work on this yourself contact transgo-Gil Younger. They have been making "shift kits" for over 50 years for all kinds of inbred gremlins. I installed my first shift kit in a 50's vintage cast iron cruise o matic about 50 years ago and have not opened up a transmission from that day on without installing one. Look them up on the internet, contact them, describe your symptoms and see what they say.
