Default 2004 2500hd chevy fuel delivery issues

I think I have a fuel pump going out. My truck runs good and after a while it just quits running like its starving for fuel. Its hard to re-start the first time, but seems to start right up on the second try.

How do I check to see if its the fuel pump? With fuel pressure?
How much fuel pressure should it have on start-up and idle?
I read it might be the fuel regulator? How do I know if its the fuel reg or pump?

Any help would be great.
