Default 3.4L V6 motor, in 2002 Impala.. Interference motor or non-interference?

Is this motor an interference motor? Or Non-interference motor? Online searches show some sites saying it is and other sites say it is NOT. Also I read that this motor has a timing belt AND timing chain.......how is this possible?

Thanks

Interference motor? It doesn't matter. Repair all engines as if they are interference motors. The 3.4 L engine has a chain driven camshaft in the block. Note the push rods are 2 sizes long and if their installed to the wrong location the valve WILL hit the piston.
