Red face 350 caburated won't run long

Ok I have a 1975 camaro, Lt model. It has a 90's good wench crate 350 with and edelbrock 1407(750cfm manual choke).

The pump plunger broke and I replaced it myself and I decided while I had the top end off the carb I would replace the needle and seat assembly because it was looking old. This was the first time I've really worked on a working carb. Ok so I got it all back together and it ran ok so I took it for a cruise and got about 5blocks and it died. It now will run for around 15 to 40 seconds but it has to sit for a minute or 2 before it will start each time. Idk why it won't work but I'm guessing I did something wrong with the carb. Also when it broke down on the road my dumb friend started messing with the tuning on the carb so I'm guessing its way out of tune and idk how to tune it. It would be nice if someone could post a link to how to tune it. My cell phone is my only internet so it takes a long time to look things up for me. Well thanks for your time.

Hi servermans,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

It sounds like it is time for a new carburetor, or possibly a fuel system upgrade, depending upon your inclination.

You seem to be describing accelerator pump failure(not hooked up? collapsed?)
Idle mixture screws out of adjustment, AND a leaky throttle body. Not a favorable combo, maybe somebody here is an Edelbrock 4barrel fan who can shed some light on your predicament?

Sorry for the multi post last night I'm not sure how it happened. So I did a full rebuild myself last night and now its not leaking anymore and the acceleratorpump seems to work. Well now it still won't idle long.

is your choke set up properly? sounds like the problem, when your car gets warm pop off the air cleaner and see if the choke flap is open on the primaries

Check the float and needle and seat if they are stuck. sounds like nothing is holding the fuel back and just pouring in
