Default 350 GM Performance Engine PISTON

I bought a new GM Performance replacement engine (19355658) 350/290 horse power engine for my 1972 Corvette. I bought the engine three years ago and never hardly drove the car because I am redoing the entire car. I cranked the car one cold morning and the engine backfired and started knocking. I troubleshoot the noise and pulled the engine, tore it down and number 8 piston rod was bent and the piston had bang marks on the bottom. The engine is out of warranty even thou it had less than 100 miles on it. I've been trying to find a replacement piston (93422884) with no luck. Supposedly the piston was discontinued without a replacement. I even called General Motors. I do not want to replace all the pistons, does anyone know of a replacement piston that I can use in this application?

I ordered from this vendor and they cancelled the order because the piston was unavailable.
