Default 350 modifications

New to this forum, now to the question. I have a stock 350 on a 79 Chevy c-10, I'm about to make a few mods to it. I was wondering if it was okay to put new stock heads, an edelbrock high rise intake, holly 650cfm carb and low profile air filter on and not cause any damage to it, there is a little bit of black smoke coming out the back.

Since you are adding a low profile air filter, I don't see any issues with a high rise intake. You need to study valve size vrs. cam vrs carb, and what you want to do with it.

Okay now I'm wanting it to be louder. What is the cheapest way to make it loud but not too loud
