Default Modifications to the 06 Silverado Z71

Hello,

New too the forum, I have a couple of questions,

1: I have an 06 silverado that has the third seat in the front with the lame console. Can I get an aftermarket console or can I get a console from the dealership that has the extra space that I want.

2: Has anybody here put in component speakers for the sound system? and if is so what?

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

1. From my understanding there is a website where you can get the center consol like the LT model for like $300 i cant remember what its called but i know ive seen it... do some hunting around, its possible.

2. ive got an all aftermarket system for my '01 ext cab LT... i went with Infinity 6 1/2 component and Infinity 4x6 Plate in the rear with a 400 wattAlpine to power them. go to www.crutchfield.com and do the "outfit my vehicle" they have the same 6 1/2" component system that i do, only newer... my 4x6 rear is the same new type and when i get some nickels together, they will change to match. i HIGHLY recommend them! they are on sale freakishly low at $100. the 4x6's are also on sale for $70. with an amp they will blast your ears off!
hope that helps.

I would love to know the answer to the first question. Hopefully someone will read this and have an answer.

Thanks

not sure if you considered this,
but someone here on the forum gives instructions on how to replace the silverado bucket seats with the 2 single tahoe seats, you can then add whatever sort of middle console you want.

not sure if this helps your case. but what i did for my truck just because it was something different was take the middle cushion seat out. and made up some pieces of metal to make a rack for my amp for my subs. i have pics in my album if interested.

In the Tahoe you can take the middle jump seat out and replace it with one from the higher up model. It bolts right in without any modification. From the dealer it is over $1400.00. I got mine from ebay for $350.00. Check ebay there are alot on there now.
