if the plugs are sooty, that maens it is running too rich, just adjust the idle screws 1/8 turn and listen or smoothing out of the engine

Default go back to basics

when i can't find out what's wrong, i go back to basics, check the compression on all 8 plugs, cranking compression on a new engine should be about 100psi, then put a vacuum gauge on and start it up, you should see about 20 inches of vacuum and steady...if it's fluttering, there could be a tight valve or the timing chain could be off a tooth
