Default 355 small block

I have a 355 chevy small block it has a medium sized cam and one day it fouled couple plugs out so I figured it was something with the carb and it was the float it was full of fuel. I got it to run again and it was good for a day drove it to work and back home then all of a sudden the next morning when I went to start the truck it miss fired off a couple cylinders and I drove like 100ft then it stalled and wouldn't start then all of sudden when I towed it back it wanted to start but again mossed terribly. then it quit running. changed plug. checked valve lash and timing and still continues to backfire put off carb and not run. let me know what you guys know its my daily driver and sucks not being bale to drive!

Backfire is ignition. Is this a rochester carb? When it flooded was it just a stuck float? Did you adjust the float? Fouled plug, was it black, fouled because of too much gas? Does it have a point distributor, or electronic ignition?
