Default 3inch spacer

i have a 2004 chevy silverado 1500 2wd, i just got 3inch spacers for my front end and when it came it the thickness is only about an inch to an inch and a half. the paper that came with it says though, when spacers are installed on the front on SLA suspensions, vehicle height is raised approximately 2.5 to 3times the thickness of the spacers, how is this possible?

the spring is in the middle of the a-arm so 1.5 inch in the middle= 3 inch at the tire
