Hey guys, hoping someone has some insight here on a 454 I'll be building up.
I've got a 1988 454, with just stock pistons in it, and I've got a set of 402 heads (casting # 3964291). I'll do a mild cam and aluminum intake. Not looking at getting crazy hp but something decent for a tow rig. I did a calculation for compression ratio and came up with about 8.5.
Does that sound about right?
And what kind of hp is possible with that?
Ide still like to be able to run 89 octane so I can't go to high on the compression.
Any help with this would be great. Thanks in advance
