Default 489 stroker clearences

I am building a 489 stroker in school for a 1983 Chevy k30 I am restoring. I just had a few questions on bearing clearances. This block is a 2 bolt main block and I am using a scat stroker kit. Like I said its going in a 1983 k30 that has a 4 speed muncie. My bearing clearances on the mains are .020 and my thrust bearing clearance is .050. To me these seem a little tight and I just wanted someones input that might know a little more about the big block world than I. I was reading that I might be okay if I run a lower viscosity oil. Also this is just a street motor most it will rev up to is around 6,000 rpms.
Thanks
