5.7 vortec wont warm up
Hello all. I have a 1998 k1500 5.7 and I cannot get it to full operating temperature. It will not go above 170f or around 70c. I have put in 3 thermostats due to thinking they may be faulty but no luck. I have even pinched off the upper rad hose with a clamp to rule out thermostat issues. I am getting not very good heat in the cab and have verified the gauge readings with an infrared gun on the thermostat housing. The fan spins freely when engine is off and seems to spin the recommended 30% or so of the water pump speed when running like it’s supposed to. Any advice is appreciated!
