6L50 Transmission Model Year Interchangeability

6L50 Transmission Model Year Interchangeability
2008 Cadillac STS 3.6L Platinum RWD
I was wondering if there is someone on here who is knowledgeable on the 6L50 transmission and can perhaps provide interchangeability information? My question is this: I have a 2008 Cadillac STS 3.6 Platinum RWD with a nearly destroyed 6L50 Trans (150k miles in FL Heat & I don't drive it like I’m retired). I would like to go with a used 2011 trans that I have found with low miles (20k). The issue is that I am not certain if it is compatible since the part number is different and there seems to be no information on what changes were made through the model years. From a car perspective the 2008 to 2011 STS changed very little but I know that when GM introduces a new Trans that there are always little tweaks in the first several model years.
