Default 71' cheyenne pu starting woes

Help!!! I have a 71' pu truck will not start on its own. It has almost new battery, fully charged, new points and condenser, new cap and rotor, new coil, new s-plugs and wires, bench tested starter. It will however, start when jump started with cables, also when starter soleniod is bypassed using the old "screw driver technic". Oh, I almost forgot a new ignition switch and battery terminals are tight at battery and at soleniod connections. When I attemp to start it with ignition key it cranks over, but it sounds like its stressing. It does not have the strong clear cranking sound it makes when I bypass the solenoid. Please help I'm STRESSING.......

this may seem a little bit dumb but make sure the postive cable has a good connection at the battery and at the starter.
