Default (85) 700r4 rebuild/repair help needed

Hey there everyone, I am currently working on an odd year out (85) 700r4 out of an old k10 I recently came across. Just want to thank any and everyone in advance who can offer some wisdom as ive hit something of a dead end.
So I'm tearing this this tranny apart, and so far all im seeing is a whole lot of metal shavings and things that ought not be where they were found. I start digging further in and I find throughout the tranny that all the clutch packs are in different condition, some are worn well past there time while others further down the train look to only have a few thousand miles on them, I even found some rather expensive performance clutches that were installed for no particular reason at all.
At this point i know the trannys had some work done to it and wasn't done as good as it could have been. My issue is that im trying to find a single wave plate that was absent in the low reverse side of the tranny. Every thing that i seem to come across so far is for an 87 and up, but nothing at all for 85. When I installed the clutch pack for the low reverse side i could see a gap just large enough for the wave plate so i know one goes there, i just don't know if a new modeled one would work because of a possible size difference.
If anyone knows a good parts supplier or online retailer that would have these parts specifically, let me know. Any thoughts comments or tricks of the trade would be greatly appreciated as well.
