92 chevy lumina 3.1L v6......
i need help i have a 92 chevy lumina and im trying to change out the lock cylinder. it has a steel steering column and i cant seem to get to it is there a special tool or way to get to it ? please help thanks
you have to use a pick to get the center retaining ring up, after you get the steering wheel off and then once removed the lock stop comes right out. Then you turn the lock cylinder a little to line the pins up and it slides right out
Nope. There are like tabs in there you have to press and the lock cylinder comes out. I cant remember but if you have the new cylinder look for the for the tabs. The key has tobe in the cylinder I think to make it easier.
turns out i didn't have to do that there was actually a screw holding the lock cylinder in place in a very difficult to get to place but i managed to get it out and replace the lock cylinder with just the steering wheel off. thanks for your help maby this will help someone in same situation.
