Default 93 Z71 4x4 won't kick in!!!

Hello there guys. I hope someone has an idea on whats wrong with my 4x4.
I have a 93 silverado ext 5.7L 4x4. It stared snowing up here and when I putted on it went on for 3 minutes
and from there on it won't go in. Not even the 4L 4x4, it makes the loud noise on the low but only the back tires work.
Could it be a switch? I bought it used and it never gave me a problem till today. Just another question, how you put the 4x4 on? may be i'm doing it wrong?
Thnaksss a lot

Do you have push button 4x4 or a manual transfer case? (lever on floor)

hey i have the same truck. and i have the manual case as well. put your truck in neutral and then shift it into 4h or 4l. with my 4h i have to drive forward a little bit and then the lever shifts down all the way and 4h kicks in. hope it helps;...

the loud sound is prolly ur transfer case kicking in. sounds like ur front diff actuator isn't working therefor not locking ur front axles.
