Default '95 Monte Carlo Random Start

Hope someone can help! I have done all I know to do. It all started like the start was going bad. But would start after a few tries. So we changed out the starter but issue continued. So after a few starters (all remanufactured) we took the starter to someone who rebuilds them and when he took it apart he said it was good. So we changed out fuel pump, wires to battery and a new battery. We even changed out the lock cylinder and got a new key. Still not fixed....so we were told to buy the bypass for the security system so we did that just installed and still nothing. It started once and now just clicks every time we try to turn it over. We have only gotten it started once since we did the by pass. Using the new key we had made at the dealership. Anyone have any ideas??? We are at a loss!!!

You say starting, is it cranking over fine, but not starting? You also mention it just clicks, is the battery fully charged? Did you replace the starter solenoid with the starter?

Yes the battery is fully charged and yes we replaced the solenoid. Its like the security system isn't letting it start. Right now it is sounding like the starter is bad...turning the key and nothing. The time it did start, it started great, heard the fuel pump and everything like normal. We also took the battery to get checked and it checked out fine.

I'd say if it's not cranking like it should, AND good battery, I'd suggest look at the cables, AND the solenoid connections (wires)

We replaced the cables and the wires because we figured may as well since it wasn;t all that expensive to do that

I am very familar with passlock II, if your security ignition isn't right, it will not crank, but give you a security light. Your ignition switch may be the cause, but since it tries to crank?

If it isn't cranking, or if it's "clicking", it is battery or loose connection. I'd suspe
ct battery cable at the battery, also look at both +, and -

These are all good. It does start VERY randomly....to give you an idea, you would think the starter was bad.
