Default 98 Silverado 4x4 5.7liter Wont stay running.

Ok so today driving to get tires for work my car started to studder/loose power and i couldnt give it gas then it died i pulled it over to the side of the road turned everything off then started it back up. Worked just fine. Another mile down the road it did it again and it wouldnt turn back on, i let it sit for 5 min it turned over and started then shut off after 3 seconds.

Fuel pump is priming i can hear it. Battery is brand new, and gets a full 14+. Alternator is working from what i can tell because the battery has full juice when its on. I am thinking its a fuel issue. I am going to check fuel filter tomorrow.
Anyone else got any ideas?

Default 98 chevy with a fuel problem

I'd say its the fuel pump . If it runs a while then gets warm then stops then cools down then starts back up . Sounds like the fuel pump is bad ,Fuel pump motor gets hot then cuts out .Had the same problem and replaced the fuel pump . Before that replaced the fuel filter and that did not work . check relay also under hood by ECM , Fuel pump has a Relay which costs about $5 to 7 dollars to replace .

Ok so i hooked up a fuel pressure tester to the Schrader valve and its reading 60psi on prime and 52/55 when running at idle. Constant and when truck does the gauge doesnt move it stays at 52/55 then when it finally dies it goes back to 60.

So does that mean its my fuel pressure regulator?
