'99 2d Tahoe lost power - please help before my husabnd gets home!
Hi everyone,
My husaband bought a '99 two-door Tahoe last week and this is his new baby. Hewent to the OU-Texas game this weekend and I was going to drive it to dinner with our teenage son last night. It started right up and we backed out of the driveway. When I put it in drive and pushed the accelerator, we went about 5 ft and the whole thing died! No power, no lights, nothing. My husband got new rear speakers and hooked one up right before he left for Texas but didn't have time for the other one. He didn't start it before he left. Do you think the new speaker blew a fuse or something?
If it's just a fuse, I sure would like to get it running again before he gets home tomorrow. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks - I will! Do you think the speaker install would have caused this to blow? If so, I assume I should disconnect it before starting it again.
Why would he take speaker wires from that place.check battery cables are theytight on there post, and not coroded.check main fuse from underhood fuse box too.
The speakers are located in the roof inside at the very back. I thought that might be what caused the fuse to blow since it's the only thing that's changed since we last started it. I couldn't find the fuse from your diagram - it doesn't look the same under our hood. From the picture it looks like the mega fuse should be screwed to the fan shroud but it isn't. I looked at all of the fuses in the fuse box under the hood but I think they are okay. None of the silver parts appear to be broken. I know my car lingo is notvery helpfulbut I am pretty good at technical stuff. I appreciate you taking the time to help me.
It's fixed! The positive battery terminal was loose. Thank goodness - OU lost but at least the truck runs - thanks for your help!
